COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

CONDUCT SYMPTOMS ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO TRAVELING TO THE RACE, THE NIGHT BEFORE AND THE MORNING OF THE RACE.
The State of Ohio mandates that participants in outdoor activities in a shared social space conduct symptom assessments prior to engaging in outdoor recreational activities. Symptoms include the following: Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fever, Chills, Muscle pain, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell.

Symptomatic individuals should stay at home and perform daily symptom assessments before interacting with others.

SYMPTOMS THAT DEVELOP DURING THE RACE:
If you develop COVID-19 symptoms, immediately return home, isolate and/or seek medical care if you develop symptoms during the event. We will have local EMS available if you’re in need.

PACKET PICKUP & THE STARTING LINE: At packet pickup please be mindful of others and maintain social distance. Your packet will include a runners mask that we encourage you to wear before and after the race when in the start/finish area and for any interactions at aid stations or elsewhere along the course. Runners will start in 1 minute waves with three runners per minute. There will be lines every 6 feet behind the start line for runners to line up on and progressively move forward to start. Faster runners toward the front slower runners towards the back.

PRE-RACE DINNER: This year's pasta dinner on Friday will be served takeout style. You will be able to pick up your free meal (and any others you wish to purchase) and take them wherever you wish to eat. (campsite, hotel, picnic table outside, home, wherever)

AID STATIONS: Limited contact aid stations , call out from the proper, marked distance what you want and workers will fill your requests. Volunteers may pour hydration (water, electrolyte, soda) into a runner’s bottle, cup or bladder that a runner holds or sets down for filling. Aid station volunteers will be a max two per shift, and will be wearing protective gear. Runners and crew please maintain a 6-foot distance from aid station and course marshall volunteers. Expect the same awesome aid stations you have had in the past from our races.

DROP BAGS AND CREW: We will be having drop bags for 100 and 50 mile runners. There will be extra space this year for drop bags so runners can maintain a safe social distance. Metal folding chairs will be in the drop bag area for runners to use and will be cleaned by volunteers after they are used. Drop bag locations will be at the start/finish aid station and the route 800 aid station. Please remind your pacer, crew, friends and family to maintain safe social distance at the start/finish area.

THE COURSE

The course will be a 25-mile loop (4 loops for 100-miles, 2 loops for 50-miles) consisting of single track trail, old railroad beds and towpath trail. Along the course you will see beautiful woodlands, overlooks, an old iron mine, Dover dam, Tuscawaras river and the historic town of Zoar. Total course elevation of approximately 2500 feet per loop. (10,000 feet for the 100-mile and 5.000 for the 50-mile.)
